Our goal at Healthy Farms Vet is to see every patient only once per year for an annual wellness exam. If we are doing our jobs, we will have talked to our clients about health, deworming, vaccination, housing, nutrition, and all other aspects of wellness to help you as owners prevent as many health troubles as possible.

Veterinary Services for Horses, Mules, and Donkeys we offer include:
Wellness exams:
Wellness exams are a crucial time when we have a chance to look at horse without the pressure of an illness or other problem going on. We listen to his heart, look at his haircoat and hoof quality. Discuss what feeds he is getting and how they are working for him. Evaluate his topline for signs of Cushing’s disease or amino acid deficiency. We look at his mucus membrane color and check his teeth to make sure that he is eating properly. We also advise on deworming schedules and talk about fecal testing. This is the important visit where we, as your veterinarians, can help you troubleshoot potential problems and get a feel for your animal when he is healthy.
Dental care:
Dr. Spencer has an interest in dentistry and can help your horse through regular exams and shaping of teeth as well as dental X-rays and extractions as needed.
Lameness exams:
From a horse who can only walk on three legs to the performance horse not going well, we will help you get your horse comfortable and working again.
X-ray (radiograph)
On-site digital X-Rays to diagnose lameness, monitor ongoing conditions, facilitate working with farrier to find the right trim or shoe for your horse, etc.
Ultrasound
Is used to help diagnose a variety of conditions from lameness to ocular problems.
Sick animal exams:
We work sick horses into the day or see them on an emergency basis as needed to treat all ailments from colic to respiratory disease to diarrhea to “ain’t doing right.” We will evaluate your horse and talk about what testing, if any, is needed to help figure out what is making your horse ill. We will then work with the owner to design a sensible treatment plan.
Wound repair and management
Reproductive work
Including breeding, monitoring pregnancy, foaling, and raising healthy foals.
